GAS WORKS.

JUNE WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of June was 581,100 ft., which with the amount in the holder on June Ist, 11,200 ft., made a total of 592,300 ft. During the month 171,700 ft of gas was used by consumers, 27,800 ft in street lamps, 32,200 ft at the works and •there was 9,400 ft in the holder on July Ist., making a total of 541,100 ft and leaving 51,200 ft, representing 8.8 per cent, xinaecounted for. 52 tons of coal were carbonis--ed during the month, yielding 10,741 c.ft to -the ton. The earnings for the month totalled £365 Bs, and were made up as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £153 3s 7d, heat and power £l6O 4s Id, coke sales £2B 14s lOd, tar sales £2l Is, weighing £2 6d, fittings £9 8s 9d, services £8 4s 6d, labour services £4 lid, miscellaneous £6 4s Bd, a total of £365 Bs. The expenditure for the month totalled £482 16s lid, and was made up -as follows: —Coail £136 9s, salaries, Wages, etc., £53 13s 2d, services £8 2s 2d, fittings £5 10s 6d, engine repairs 15s, tools £2 11s 3d, cartage and freight £4 4s Id, Avorking expenses £4 6d, rates £ll 8s Id, sundries £4 5s 9d, retorts (material) £BS 12s 2d, fitting material £l2 15s 2d, mouthpieces £l2 15s 7d, wages £B3 2s lOd, Interest on Sinking Fund £59 11s Bd, a total of £482 16s lid.
