DOUBLE WEDDING.

A double wedding took place at Mr and Mrs Edlin’* residence Duncan Street, on Wednesday, 9th August The contracting parties were Mi 's Florence Lilian Edlin, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Edita, to Mi 1 John Edwin Tollison, eldest son f Mr and Mrs Tollison, Hastings, ° uu [ Miss Ethel Mary Edlin, thffd daughter, to Mr Arthur Gordon Tollison. The Rev. Frank McDonald was the officiating minister. Miss Florence wore a richly braided grey gaberdine costume, with pink toque and floating veil, and carried a bouquet- of white and pink camelias, snow flakes and fern, with tulle streamers, and Miss Ethel wore a smart brown cloth costume, handsomely braided, with a pale blue hat, and also carried a bouquet of white camelias, snow flakes and maidenhair fern, tied with a bow of tulle. The brides were attended by their sister, Gertie, who wore a dainty maize-coloured frock, embroidered in gold, and a mauve picture hat and carried a posy of violets and mauve primroses with maiden-hair fern, tied with mauve ribbon. Mr Walter Edlin carried out the duties of best man.

The bridegrooms’ gifts to the brides’ were dress-rings and to the bridesmaid, a brooch set with pearls and rubies. The bouquets were the gift of: Mrs Frank Proctor. The happy couples left by ear for Palmerston on route to Napier and Wellington where the honeymoons will be spent. Mr and Mrs Edlin entertained a few friends at a dance in the evening at their residence. The brides’ mother wore a smart black fugi silk dress trimmed with mauve shot silk.
