One of the most forlorn little ocean travellers Southhampton has ever received landed from the Cunnrd liner Aquitania a few weeks ago. He was Anthony Lurka, a 12-year-old Polish boy, whose-home is at New’ Jersey. Two days out from New’ York he was found crouching in a half-terrified condition behind a coil of rope in the steerage, and as he had no ticket, luggage, or money, he was classed as a stowaway. When brought ashore lie explained tearfully, that he had not come to England for adventure, but through mistake. “Mother told me that she w r as going back to Poland when she left me indoors the other day,” he said, “and because I thought she might leave me behind 1 went as fast as I could to New York. When I saw the Aquitania I thought mother must be in it and 1 crept aboard, but she w r as not in the ship.” The Cunard Company sent him back to New York in the Aquitania on her return passage.-
