NEW RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of delegates from rifle (dubs along this coast was held at Otaki last Saturday to complete the formation of a Rifle Association Representatives from the Hautere Parnparaumu, Ngatiawa, and Foxton rifle clubs were present. The Levin club was not represented. It was decided that the Association be named the Horowhenua Rifle Association, membership to be open to all riflemen in the five clubs concerned. Capable and experienced officers were elected, and an-execu-tive committee consisting of two members of each committee consisting of two members of each club. Mr W. H. Field, M.P. was elected Patron. It was decided to hold the first meeting of the Association at Easter next, year, probably on Easter Monday. Handicaps will be allotted on an automatic basis, with a handicap aggregate and a “scratch” aggregate. The main details of programme, prizes, etc., were settled. A general meeting of the local club will be called when a copy of the minutes of the above meeting has been received.
