THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The High Commissioner’s cables dated 15th inst., reads: —“Hemp, manila market, continues quiet but prices steady. “G” grade, JulySepteanber shipments and AugustOetober shipments quoted at £34, “4” £3O 10s sellers; demand is good for spot, parcels at 20s, 30s over ■ shipment prices. Output from Ist January to Ist July 566,000 bales against 380,000 last year. Stocks in London end of June 16,404 bales, against 52,873 for same time last year. New Zealand batter inquiry from America and fair business reported at about £34 10s, good fair, £32 10s high 1 point. July-September shipment and August-October shipment, New York. British and Continental markets quiet, consumers showing no interest. Nominal value high points spot and July-Septem-ber shipment, £3l 10s, fair £3O 10s. Stocks in London end of -June 371 tons against 731 tons last year.
