FIRE BRIGADE BALL.

Ti‘ the local Fire Brigade are as thorough and enthusiastic in fire fighting as they proved themselves to he in connection with last night’s hall then Foxton has cause to be proud of them. Last night’s function was conceded to he the best ball yet held in Foxton. The decorations were magnificent and the stage, which accommodated the orchestra, was converted into a sylvan bower —it only required a few fairies to complete the scene. An artistic bell was suspended from the centre of the hall —the work of Mr C. Pearson —to which were attached numerous red streamers. The decorations were artistically planned and hours of labour must have been spent by the committee in carrying them out. Mesdames Pearson, Head, Heasoman and Seabury were responsible for the supper arrangements, and in this connection they desire to thank all who contributed. Visiting firemen from Palmerston and Levin were in attendance. The music was provided by Larkins orchestra. Messrs Perreau and Head officiated as M.’s 0. Both socially and financially the hall was a big success. The Mayor delivered a short congratulatory address and complimented the brigadesmen on the splendid turn-out and hoped every one would spend an enjoyable evening,
