Public NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intent' n of the Horowhenua Electric-Rower Board, under powers conferred by “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913," and “The Electric-Power Boards Act, 1918,” and all other powers thereto enabling, to raise a Special Loan as hereunder stated, viz. : 1. The purpose of the loan is to provide for the distribution of electric energy throughout the said Horowhenua ElectricRower District by reticulating the said district and generallv'carrying out such works as are authorised by “The Elec-tric-Power Boards Act, 1918,” and its amendments, to acquire such land or property necessary for the undertaking, and to render temporary financial assistance to consumers as provided in the said Act. 2. The sum proposed to be borrowed is £260,000. 3. It is proposed that the term of (he loan shall be a period of not less than twenty nor more than thirty-three years, that the rate of interest to be paid on the loan shall not exceed Five pounds ten shillings per centum per annum, plus a Sinking Fund of One per centum per annum. To provide l security for such interest and sinking fund, it is further proposed to make a Special Rate on all rateable property in the whole of the Horowhenua Electric-Power District, sufficient to meet, if the occasion should arise, the periodical payments of such interest and sinking fund, and 10 per centum more than such payments. 4. It is-proposed to pay out of the loan moneys preliminary and other expenses authorised under “The Electric-Power Boards Act, 19T8F*^ : and also the cost of raising the loan and the interest and sinking fund of the loan during the period of construction of the above works.
