HIGH COMMISSIONER'S
REPORT
The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 24th inst., reads:—“Hemp, manila market, firmer. “G” and “H,” June-August shipments, sold early this week at £33 and later “G” at £34 and up to £34 15s. New Zealand spot offerd at high points £3O, fair £29, but no transactions were reported. There is a demand from America, and it is reported moderate business has been done, tair, £2B 10s to £29, July-Septem-ber, August-October shipments.
