GIRL SHOOTS LOVER.
DISGUISED IN ARAB CLOTHES
One of the principal streets of Tunis was the scene a shox*t time ago, in broad daylight, of a tragic love drama. An Arab woman, elegantly dressed, and wearing a heavy veil, had been noticed waiting for some time outside a shop. Presently a young man walked out, a European, and the mysterious woman followed him for a few yards. Then producing a revolver she fired two shots into his back. The man fell to the ground and then the woman coolly * placed her weapon close to the head of her victim and fired another four shots. As the police inspector was questioning the woman she pulled aside her veil and said: “I am not a native, I am an Italian. My name is Roditia Consolata. I wore this native dress in order that I would not be recognised by the man I wished, to kill.” The girl, who is very beautiful, related that she lived with her parents in the neighbourhood Last year she met the man she had just killed. He promised to marry her, but deserted her, and refused to return.
