FIVE LADS DEALT WITH,
Auckland, Last Night. Five* young men, whose exploits of breaking and entering in the Ponsonby district during May revealed remarkable depravity, appeared before Judge Stringer at the Supreme Court. The Judge commented that Henry John Esdale appeared to be on a different footing from the four partners in the cx-ime, as he had previously undergone reformative treatment.’ The Judge sentenced Esdale to one month’s imprisonment followed by not more than tffC years’ reformative detention. Wiff* regard to the other four, His Honour commented that their exploits were more in the nature of youthful escapades than crime.
