ST. MARY’S CONVENT
SALE OF WORK. The sale of work in aid of the convent funds was held in the Catholic schoolroom on Thursday and yesterday afternoon and evening. There were good attendances throughout and 1 the result of the effort both from a financial and social point of view was a great success. At times the building was a little over-crowded, but this did not interfere with business. Mrs Murphy presided in the Hall of Destiny and the following are the names of the various stall holders: —Fancy Stall, Mrs O’Donnoghue and Mrs Jacobsen; Plain Stall, Mrs Hynes and Mrs W. Smith; Refreshment Stall, Miss Bonfield and assistants; Produce, Mrs Bert Dunn; Novelty Stall, The Misses Woodruffe and Desmond; Bran Tub, Miss Follas and Miss E. Bowe; Hooplah, Mr Carmine. Musical items were contributed bv Misses Upton, M. Hynes, K. Roore, M. MeColl, K. and M. Desmond, and Messrs Seymour Small and M. Francis. A word of praise is due to the Sisters and the commit tee for excellent manner in which all the details were carried out. We are asked to especially thank all who in any way assisted to make the sale a success.
