WEDDING
A wedding of considerable local interest was solemnised in the Mataura Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, May 24, between Miss C assie MeMaster, eldest daughter of Mrs C. H. MeMaster, Mataura, and the late Mr James MeMaster, artist of Belfast, Ireland, and Mr Robert Wright, Mataura. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. James MeMaster, 8.A., brother of the bride, assisted by the Rev. John MeIlroy, 8.A., of Gox-e. The Rev. Landrick MeMaster, another brother gave the bride away and the duties of best man were carried out by Mr Norman Wright. The bride wore a gown of ivory eharmeuse with overdress of white georgette draped with palest blue and' a veil held in place with knots of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums, maiden-hair fern, and asparagus. Miss Chrisse MeMaster, sister of the bride, wore a frock of lemon knitted silk and a tulle veil caught with a head-dress of lemon ribbon mounted" with orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white and yellow chrysanthemums with blue streamers. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s mother. Later Mr and Mrs Wright departed for the north, the bride wearing a coat frock of mole velour cloth embroidered with silk chenille, feather toque en suite and set of black fox furs. Among many beautiful presents was a set of china 70 years old, the gift of a friend of the bride’s family.
