MANAWATU LICENSING BENCH.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Manawaiu Licensing- Bench was held at Foxton yesterday. There were present: Messrs J. L. Stout, S.M., (chairman), R. Bryant. H. G. Hammond, J. E. Walker, and W. Murdoch.

NEW LICENSES. New licenses were granted to Mr H. D. Melver, Mauawatu Hotel, Eoxton; E.. C. Edmonds, Railway Hotel, Turakina; and F. McCullough \ of the Ben Nevis Hotel, Turakina. RENEWALS. Renewals were granted as follows: —Foxton. —J. T. Follas, Post Office Hotel; W. Kirkland, Whyte’s Hotel; R. Palmer, Family Hotel. Shannon.—M. Moynihan, Manawaiu Club Hotel; IV. McKegg, Albion Hotel. Sanson. —C. (J. Price, Junction Hotel. Awahuri. —N. McCarthy, Endymion Hotel. Bulls. —.J. H. Raymond, Rangitikei Hotel: J. T. Brady, Criterion Hotel. PERMENANT TRANSFER. A permenant transfer of the Ben Nevis Hotel, Turakina, was granted to F. McCullough. Mr Bergin appeared for the Foxton licenses. Mr Blennerhasset for the Turakina licenses, and Mr R. McKay for the Bulls and Sanson licensees. Inspector McKinnon represented the police and stated there were no adverse reports. f The chairman said it was very satisfactory to the police and Bench to know that the hotels were being so well conducted.
