PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Meetings of Session, committee and congregation of the Foxton Presbyterian Church were held on Tuesday night in the local church to take steps to call a minister to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of the Rev. Tlios. Hallidav. The meetings were representative of the whole charge. The Rev. Mr Miller, interim moderator, presided. After the preliminaries had been disposed of a selection committee was appointed and applications from nine ministers were considered and it was unanimously decided to proceed with a “call” to the Rev. Frank McDonald, of Pa proa. A further congregational meeting will be held at Foxton on the 15th inst. Messrs Gimlett and Jno. Ross were unanimously elected to the vacant positions of secretary and treasurer respectively and Mr R. M. Parkes as treasurer of the Foxton Church.
