SYMPATHY WITH REBELS.
LABOUR “PEACE” PROPOSALS. Among the bodies affiliated with the New Zealand Labour Party is the National Peace Council, which has its headquarters in Christchurch. In former y.ears this organisation has confined itself principally to submitting remits to the annual conference of the Labour Party on military training and war. This year, however, the Peace Council is directing itself to subjects of venereal disease and the support of Gandhi and Zaghloul, the two leaders at the back of the troubles in India and Egvpt. The remit to be forwarded to the July -Conference of the Labour Party concerning Gandhi and Zaghloul, the Indian and Egyptian leaders, in their endeavours to raise the conditions of their jreoples and in ther advocacy of their aims by methods of non-violence.
