Manawatu Herald. SATURDAY, MAY 20, 1922. POLITICAL SACRILEGE.
IT is political sacrilege for Mr Holland M.P. to claim that the Labour Party —the extreme section of .which he is the Parliamentary leader —now stands confident in its desire and its power “to build constructively towards its Socialist objective on the foundations laid by the old Liberal Leaders." This piece of brazen political effrontery caused the Dominion to remark: —“Mr Wilford and his followers cannot be expected to submit lamely to the highhanded seizure of properties they have exhibited with pride on many platforms. Their sense of outrage however, is mild in comparison with what would be felt by the Old Liberal leaders if they were able to hear Mr Holland nominating himself and liis party as heirs of their tradition. The idea of the exponents of class war direct action building constructively towards their Socialist objective on the foundations laid by the old Liberal leader is enough to make those by-gone worthies turn in their graves."
