A. M. Page's refusal to take the oath of allegiance without a Conscience clause was referred to in the report of the College Committee, submitted to the Board of Governors of Canterbury College. 'Vhe report i.- as follows: “That the action of lhe chairman, of the Board, who after taking legal advice, declined to permit A. M. Page toleontinue at the Boys’ High School in consequence of his refusing to take the oath of allegiance in terms of the Education Amendment Act, 1921-1922, be approved, and that applications be invited to till the vacancy caused by Page ceasing to be employed at the Boys’ High School.” The import was adopted by the Board, without diseusion.
