HOUSEHOLDERS MEETING
ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEE. On Monday evening next the householders will elect a sliool committee for the ensuing year. There arc fifteen nominations for the nine stalls including eight of the sitting committee. The old committee standing are Messrs Coley, Hornblow, Perreau, Pearson, Robinson, .Jno. Ross, Stevenson and Whibley. The new aspirants are Messrs Alsop, Admore. Cowley, McKnight, Parkin, Riinmer and Rangilteuea. From the above a good selection should be made. We understand lhat' a secretary will be required from among the nominees, as this vear the chairman has had to underlake ho til duties. “Householder” menus (a) every mini! male or female person who has for the period of three months next before lhe day of election resided in any dwelling-house within the school district as owner or tenant thereof: and (b) the father, wherever resident, . r if lie is dead or .absent from New Zealand, the guardian or other person, wherever resident, who b. -s (lie actual custody of any child attending any public school situalni within such district; and (c) the husband or wife <>f any person referred l<> in paragraphs (a) ot ;h) hereof. “Dwelling-house'* mean- i permanent -trncture, but •dues t: P include a tent, or other
