WEDDING BELLS

XEWTH—SPRING. A wedding of local interest took place at the Methodist Church yesterday afternoon, the contracting parlies being Mr Stanley Newth, son of Mr and Mrs Mark Newth of Palmerston North (formerly'of Foxton) and Miss Stella Priscilla Elizabeth Spring, daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Spring of Moutoa. The Rev. L. Minifie was the officiating minister. The bride, who was attired in cream silk jersey cloth and carried a pretty bouquet, was accompanied by her sister as bridesmaid. The bridesmaid’s dress was of apricot silk jersey cloth and she also carried an aftractiee bouquet. A little niece of the bride acted as tlower girl. The bridegroom was attended by bis brother, Mr John Newth, as best man. The bride was given away by her father. The Church was crowded with guests and friends of the young couple. The bridal party entered the building to the accompaniment of the Wedding Hymn, “The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden.” Later in the service the hymn “Perfect Love” was sung by the,congregation. At the close of the ceremony Ihe bridal party left the Church to the accompaniment of t he “Wedding March,” Mrs Minilie acting as organist for the occasion. A reception was 'subsequently held in the Town Hall supper room, where upwards of JOO guests partook of the wedding breakfast. A feature of the bridal table was. a handsome three-decker cake. The customary toasts wore duly honoured. Later the happy couple left by car for Shannon, en route south, where the honeymoon is to he spent. The bride and bridegroom were (he recipients of numerous handsome gifts and congratulatory messages. Mr and Mrs Newth intend to reside in Shannon. EDWARDS—ELLIS. The wedding took place, at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Palmerston N., yesterday, of Mr William Guy Edwards, third son of Mr and Mrs Geo. Edwards, of Lady’s Mile, Foxton, and Miss Annie Ellis, •laughter of Mr and Mrs John Ellis, of Palmerston X.
