TYPHOID FEVER

SERIOUS OUTBREAK IN " AUCKLAND. Auckland, April 21. There are 58 cases of typhoid at the hospital, ineluding 50 from the Mount Albert district. The death has occurred of a patient admitted from Morningside in a low condition. Dr. Valintine and the local health authorities visited'the Mount Albert: district, and to the conclusion that the outbreak would he practically confined there. It is now well in hand. Precautions have been taken to ensure a pure water supply. • , i Auckland, Last Night. Sixty cases of typhoid have occurred in Avondale Mental Hospital, and there has been one death. No notification has been made, as the asylum is not under the control of the Health Office, Nine fresh cases -were-reported in Mount Albert today.
