From the above it will be seen that last year’s expenditure totalled £23,768. For the current year the total estimates are: —Hospital £24,653, Old People’s Home £2,880, charitable aid £4,020; grand total, £31,553. CAPITAL ACCOUNT.

The statement of receipts and expenditure on the capital account is as follows: — RECEIPTS.

Capital levy on local bodies, £530 9s 4d; subsidy, £530 9s 4d; special capital contribution from Horowhenua County and subsidy, £1,000; loan from Public Trustee, £3,000; total, £5,060 18s Bd.
