ELDERLY WOMAN KILLED.

KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR. CAR. Auckland, April 16. Mrs Sarah Jane Cullen, aged fifty-nine years, who was knocked down by a motor car in Victoria Street, died in hospital about an hour after the accident. Mrs Cullen, who resided in Boundary road, Claudelnnds. was crossing the street, and apparently failed to notice the approach of a taxi-car, driven bv Thomas Shannon. Mrs Cullen was knocked down and received severe in juries to the head.

At an inquest opened by Mr 11. A. Voting, S.M., formal evidence of identification was taken, and the inquiry was adjourned.
