YOUNG MAN KILLED

FALL FROM A TRAIN. Palmerston This Day. A young man named Prain, who joined the 0 p.m. train at Palmerston North yesterday, intending to return to his home at Shannon, complained of feeling ill shortly after the train started, and went out on to the platform of the carriage. As the train neared the Tokomam bridge, he apparently was leaningout, and the first girder struck him, knocking him off the train. The express was stopped, and search made for the missing passenger, who was discovered lying in the bed of the river with his neck broken. There were also minor injuries. The unfortunate young man was quite dead when found, and the body was taken on to Shannon.
