ONE BIG UNION.
P. & T. AFFILIATION. Christchurch, Yesterday. At, a meeting of representatives of trade unions, convened by the Canterbury Trades and Labour Council, the following resolution was carried: —“The Canterbury Trades and Labour Council congratulates the Post and Telegraph Association on the result of the ballot to join the Alliance of Labour. This Council is pleased to note the headway of close co-operation in New Zealand of both the mental and manual workers, with the object of taking some share in the management of the professions and industries, as the present management has signally failed to keep this Dominion prosperous, despite the fact that it has increased its productivity a hund•edfold during the past twenty-five .years. The hysterical utterances of the Press and of the Chambers of Commerce, are unable to stop the onward march of the workers in their efforts to make the world safe for democracy.”

Association with the Alliance of Labour is not in. the best interests- of the country, and should not he allowed to take effect.” A copy of the resolution is to be forwarded to the Government.
