OBITUARY.

MRS. 11. C. PATTERSON—AGED 50 YEARS.

We regret to chronicle the death of Mrs Patterson, wife of Mr H. C. Patterson, chemist, which took place at her residence, Alain Street, shortly after midnight on Saturday, after a lingering illness, aged 50 years. Deceased was a victim of influenza contracted some time ago, which undermined her health, and left complications which ultimately resulted in her death. During her residence in Foxton, covering a period of 14 years, the late Mrs Patterson took a keen interest in the local Horticultural Society, of which her husband was secretary for many years, and was also an active member of the local Oddfellows’ Lodge, besides which deceased was a willing helper in any deserving local cause. As a ■member of the Presbyterian Church she was a devoted worker, and gave her services freely to the Sabbath school, Choir and social organisations. The deceased was a daughter ,»f the late Mr F. 11. Revell, and was born at Wellington. Prior to coming to Foxton, deceased resided for several years in Rongotea. She leaves a husband and three daughters to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and affectionate mother. The sisters and brothers of deceased are: —Mesdames M. E. Voss, C. E. White, M. Ronaldson (Palmerston N.), R. Matheson (Taupiri), A. G. Grainger (Otane), IT. N. Rowe (Rongotea), H. N. Silk (Auckland), and Messrs T. A. Revell (Blenheim), F. IT. and R. C. Revell (Hamilton), W. G. Revell (India).

The funeral of deceased took place this afternoon. We join with the public in tendering to the bereaved husband and family our heartfelt sympathy.
