PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE.
The last meeting of the local Patriotic Fund Committee as'originally constituted, was held in the Council Chamber on Thursday night. Present : Messrs W. E. Barber (chairman), Horn blow, Thomson, McMurray, G. Huntley, Mrs MeMurray, Miss Sewell, and the treasurer (Mr Trueman). Two applications for assistance were referred to the Horowhenua Association. The Committee’s previous motion in iliis connection was confirmed, and tin 1 documents in connection with same signed.
The Committee will continue to meet and deal with local applications, and operate on an imprest account.
