MOTOR COLLISION.
CAR OVERTURNS TWICE. MIRACULOUS ESCAPE OF OCCUPANTS. A collision between two motor cars took place at Ihe intersection of Russell Streets and Norbiton Road on Saturday evening, at about (i o’clock. A car driven by Mr Sinclair, of the Able Taxi Service, Wellington, and containing six passengers, including two ladies, was going towards Palmerston N., when it collided with a car driven by the Rev. Mr Minifie, proceeding along Robinson Street across Russell Street towards Norbiton Road. The force of the impact caused the Wellington car to turn over twice, pinning the occupants und'erne’ath, and finally resting on the hood, which, being up, prevented the occupants from being thrown out, and possibly preventing more serious results. Several persons witnessed the collir sion, and rendered assistance in liberating the dccupants of the overturned car from their perilous position. The driver, Mr Sinclair, received a nasty gash on the arm, necessitating medical attention, but the others, except for a severe shaking and shock, got off without serious injuries. Both cars were badly ■ damaged. The overturned car contained the .officials in connection with 'the Wellington Motor Cycle Club’s 235 miles Reliability Trial, and were proceeding from Wellington to Palmerston to check 1 lie competitors, the first of whom was timed to reach Palmerston at 6.57 p.m.
