SCHOOL PICNIC.
A meeting of the sub-committee appointed to arrange details in connection with the school picnic to'Nfe held on the Ashliurst Domain on Wednesday next, 29tli inst., was held last night. Present: Messrs Hornblow, Geo. Coley, Jno. Ross, F. D. Whiblev, and the headmaster. It was reported that the Railway Department had sanctioned the excursion train. The prices to be charged were the same as last year, viz., children Is fid, senior scholars and teachers 2s, adults 2s fid. The amount collected for the picnic could ,not be stated, as the lists were not yet in. It was resolved to expend £4 16s o_n fruit and lollies.'-' Gifts of fruit, etc., had been promised. Resolved to invite tenders V for catering, and-that the Committee supply hot water and milk. The head master reported that he had drawn up a sports programme. Resolved that the head master sell tickets up to 5 p.m. of Tuesday. Other minor details were discussed, and the meeting adjourned until 7.30 pan. to-morrow.
