LONDON WOOL SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents,, dated • 7th March, 1922: “Wool smiles have opened. There .is a large attendance of Home and Continental buyers. As compared with , the closing rates of the last series, fine merinos are Id- per lb. ‘lower, average merinos, 2d per lb. ■ lower, fine crossbreds ’ld per lb. lower, medium crossbreds Id per lb. lower, coarse crossbreds Id per ]h. lower.” The Department of Agriculture has received Die following cablegram, dated Bth instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: —

“Wool sales opened yesterday with large attendance of buyers. Competition at beginning hesitating, but tone improved as auction proceeded. Prices all round cline on closing rates last.' Superior merinos from par to 5 per cent., ordinary and inferior merinos 10 per cent., fine crossbred 71 to 10 per cent., medium 5 per cent, to 71 per cent., and coarse par to 5 per cent, cheaper.
