THE RATANA CURES.
Miss Fr Lammas, writing to the editor of the Manawatu Times from Wellington, says:—“A short article in your daily paper has just been brought to my notice. As a rule, I think anything a writer has not the courage to sign is unworthy of notice, but in this instance it may be best tii contradict what is altogether wrong and misleading. -Correspondent says the information was gained direct, but this is absolutely faisc. Xo such information was given to any one. ‘Correspondent’ writes; ‘To my simple mind the most discussed and apparently best authenticated of all Katana's “alleged cures" has a perfectly natural explanation,’ etc., and continues, ‘that the lady even before receiving Katana's reply endeavoured to stretell her hands in a becoming attitude of prayer, when she felt a d'-tiiicl click of t!ic spinal column. • nil was immediately able to walk.’ Then followed a description of what the writer supposed to have happened by tbe said ‘click.’ This is ail utter fabrication, with not a particle of truth in it. A more hope-!e-s case than mine can scarcely be conceived. Wasted and atrophied to a degree by a succession of dangermi- illnesses that even the doctors marvelled how the breath stayed in mv frail body, up to the last minute I was so seriously ill that I was at death'.- door and not a hope given whatever. Yet T was cured instantly, just nineteen hour softer receiving Katana’s letter, and was able to walk"'with perfect ease and strength. 1 lmd not even the slightest feeling of giddiness, though I had not been oIV my hack for a moment for over ten months. The strongest man living, had he been in that position, even though in perfect health, could not say that, for the simple reason that it is out of the law of nature. The miracle remains, and cannot be explained away. Mine is not the only one by a long way, for T know personally of cases of cancer, con--umption, insanity, diabetes, and many other complaints that have been cured through Katana, after defying, all medical skill. No great deed ha! ever been done without -ome small soul trying to belittle it! T have letters from my doctor and masseause —both of whom rank high : t. their-separate professions—each slating how marvellous my recovery, which 1 am willing to show to any honest enquirer. I ascribe all praise to God, who alone doeth wondrous things."
