The announcement was made yesterday by the Hon. W. Nosworthy on behalf of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, in the course of.a general statement covering alterations in the price of flour and flour products. Details are as follows: — Flour. —Subject to the same discounts and terms as last year; to he reduced from a base price of £2l per ton (o £lB per ton. Pollard. —Subject to the same discounts and terms as last year; to be reduced from a base price of £9 per ton to £8 per ton. Bran. —Subject to the same discounts and terms as last year; to be reduced from a base price of £6 per ton to £5 per ton. Bread. —Subject to the. same discount and terms as last year; to be reduced by 4d per 21b loaf. The alteration in price with respect to flour, bran, and pollard will come into operation on the Ist March, but in order to allow bakers an opportunity of obtaining stocks of flour at the new price, the alterations in the price of bread are to take effect as from 4th March in the South Island and from 11th March in the Nor(h Island.
