“The Thunderbolt,” which screens at tlie Royal to-night, is a picture that is likely to create wholesale discussion. The-star is that remarkable combination of flawless beauty and rare ability, Katherine McDonald, who has earned the soubriquet of the “American Beauty.” A young girl who expects love and happiness in .marriage, is startled by the discovery that her husband has married her out of hatred, born of an ancient family feud; he expects to ensure that she will have no child to bear her hated name, but is thwarted of. his revenge by a strange and providential chain of circumstances. Thomas Meighen shares the honours with the beautiful star. A Harold Lloyd comedy, “Captain Kidd’s Kids,” and “The Terror Trail,” are included in the programme at usual prices. ,Monday night’s programme at the Royal will include “The Wild Goose,” from Gouverneur Morris’ fine novel. “The Wild Goose” was first published in serial form in Heart’s Magazine, whose circulation is 500,000 a ■ month. The story caught on immediately, and was widely read. Mr Morris’ other stories have found great favour with magazine readers. Prices, 6d and Is Id.
