SINCE the sanitation question was discussed at last Council meeting we have been informed by several residents that the work has not been carried out as sntisfaetorily'as could be desired, and complaints have been lodged in the cases mentioned. If the service is understaffed, steps should be taken by the local authority to improve it, as the receipts from this source are in credit, and Chore should he no undue ( ennomy when the health of the community is at slake. The pans Tumid be emptied regularly and idealised before replacing. To honeycomb backyards with nightsoil is not only illegal, but a menace to I lie health of the community, and should be strictly prohibited. The complaints indicate a laxity of duty on the part of the Nuisance Inspector, and the Borough Council would lie well advised to instruct this officer to present a report on sanitary matters within the area at its next meeting, in order to take the necessary slops to improve matters.
