MANAWATU HYDRO-ELECTRIC BOARD.

Palmerston N., Feb. 13. The first meeting of the recently constituted Manawatu-Oroua Hy-dro-electric Power Board was held this afternoon. Mr j. A. Nash, M.P., chairman of the provisional committee, gave an account of its finances, showing that receipts had totalled £3OO, and there was £SO owing by the Feilding Borough Council. After making provision for the honorarium for the secretary of the committee, there would be a debit balance of £5, for which the board would assume responsibility. The board would also take possession of a motor cycle valued at £75. Mr Nash was unanimously elected chairman of the board, Mr M. A. Eliott was elected treasurer, and Sir James Wilson, Mr J. Linklater, and Mr G. J. Harford were elected a finance committee with the chairman and treasurer.
