TENNIS NOTES.
A meeting of the committee set up for the purpose of considering the holding of a dance, was held in All Saints’ schoolroom on Thursday, ifth inst. Mr Shaw and Miss McCormick were elected joint secretaries. It was decided to hold the dance in the Masonic Hall on Friday, 24th inst. particulars of which will he given in a later issue. A match was played against Longburn, at Longburn, on Saturday last, the result being:— Sets: Longburn 11, Foxton 9. Games: Longburn 106, Foxton 107. Particulars of the game will appear in our next issue.
A match will be played -against Levin, at Levin, next Saturday. The teams will be published later.
To-morrow afternoon will be set aside for the playing off of the first round for the Walton Trophy. All members who have not played are requested to be on the courts tomorrow afternoon, as the first round closes on Thursday night. Other items of interest are unavoidably crowded out of this issue.
