HYDRO-ELECTRIC POWER BOARD.
ELECTION OF LOCAL REPRESENTATIVE TO-MORROW.
A poll will be taken to-morrow for the election of Foxton’s representative to the Horowhenua Hydro-elec-tric Power Board. The polling booth will be situated at the Town Hall supper-room, and the polling hours will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The candidates are the Mayor (Mr John Chrystall) and Cr. F. D. Whibley. In announcing his candidature to the electors, the Mayor says:—“l . fully recognise the great importance of cheap power to our water supply scheme and main industry. I will endeavour (if elected) to urge our claims as large consumers of power with proximity to source of supply, thereby hoping to secure current at the earliest date possible consistent with sound finance.” Mr F. D. Whibley also announces his candidature elsewhere in this issue.
