BOWLING
A challenge match for the Nye Ferns was played on the local green last evening, between rinks skipped/. by D. Whibley (challengers) Christie (holders). The game was interesting throughout, the scores being even at two or three stages of the contest, but near the end the holders registered a five, which put them in the lead by a fairly safe margin. The-following are the details : Challengers. Holders. Ross MeColl Pearson Admore Smith Nye D. Whibley (s) 18 Christie (s) 22 ' A match for the Manson and Barr Cup is to be played on the local green on Saturday, the visiting rink representing the Levin Club. Owing to the unfavourable weather on Saturday last, the Dixon Cup match, Woodville v. Pahiatua, was postponed until this week. Fox- ' ton will meet the successful team on Wednesday of next week.
