The Society has already been approached by the local Tennis Club to support an application for space on one of the reserves, and other organisations are likely I<> follow suit. There is ample space on the local reserves for the playing of outdoor games, and the allotment of the grounds and conditions of tenure is a matter lor set I lenient between the clubs and the Borough Council. The objects of the Beautifying Society as set out in their rules are: (1) To lay out and plant with trees, shrubs and Mowers such uncultivated spaces as are in the opinion of the Society suited for that purpose; (2) to endeavour to preserve beautiful scenery and prevent the destruction of native bush.
