THE PIONEERS
AN ENJOYABLE ENTERTAINMENT. There was a large and appreciative audience at the Town Hall last night at the above entertainment. The company eonsisls'of talented Maori entertainers, who contributed a varied instrumental and vocal' programme, which was well received. Included among (lie performers is Noho Toki, who possesses a tenor voice of remarkable sweetness. This young artist, under a good master, would make a name for himself in Die musical world. His cousin, a young lady of prepossessing appearance, has also a remarkable voice. Skip. Baker's vocal items .were much appreciated, and lie has wonderfully improved since ho has been on lour. Tom Ellers, us the funny man, created roars of laughter. The plaintive melodies suited the temperament of the company, and in these they make a decided hit. “Home, Little Maori, Home,” and (lie “Poi Song,” by Noho were excellent. This little company, under good management, and a little careful coaching, would attract large audiences in any part of the Empire. Miss Hakaraia acted as accompanist.
