OBITUARY.

ARTHUR WILLIAM REEVEAGED 66 YEARS. The death look place at 11.30 this morning, at his residence, Manawatu Heads, of Mr Arthur William Reeve, after a lingering illness, aged 66 years. The late Mr Reeve was the son of Mr and Mrs William Reeve, pioneers, and was born at Johnsonville . Deceased was engaged in the flaxmilling industry in this district for many years, in partnership with Messrs Broad and Hickson. About 12 years ago he retired from flaxmilling, and took up farming in the Feilding district. Owing to ill-health he subsequently removed to the Manawatu Heads, where he conducted a general store until last year. Deceased in years gone by took a keen interest in all branches of sport. In public matters, although not taking an active part, lie gave his support to all matters concerning the welfare of the district. One little act of recent date was the interest he evinced in Alt Saints* Orphanage, and it was at his suggestion two years ago that the little ones were brought for a holiday to the seaside, which has resulted in a home now being provided at the locality for them. He was one of Ihe earliest members of the local Masonic Lodge.. He leaves a widow and two sons (Mr Stanley Reeve, of Buxton, and Mr Percy Reeve, of Stratford), and four daughters (Mrs D. Mcllroy, of Feilding, Mrs E. Corbett, Gisborne, Mrs J. Simpson, Bulls, and Miss' Belle Reeve, Foxton). and live step-sons, to mourn the loss of a loving husband and affectionate father. The sympathy of a large circle of friends will be extended to the relatives.

The funeral will take place on Monday, leaving deceased’s late residence, Manawatu Heads, at 2 p.m. for the Foxton cemetery.
