“THE MOTOR HOG!”

“What can I do for you, old man? Chop me off a job, and I am into il!” Such was the abrupt manner of speech of a motorist who pulled up at the scene of a recent accident on the Turakina hill, and addressed to the man in trouble. He was one of nine car drivers who pulled up, each, together with the occupants of the cars, willing to render service in the time of trouble. These are the men who speed by, leaving a trail of dust to he inhaled by the pedestrian wayfarer, or occupants of horse-drawn vehicles, who make to the side of the road as the motor speeds by, followed by angry imprecations. The “motor hog” is not so had as he is sometimes painted.
