TRAGEDY NEAR ELTHAM.

Eltharo, Jan. 6A shocking tragedy occurred on a farm near Eltharn this morning. A farmer named William Percival Owen attempted to murder his wife and then committed suicide. While the employees were absent he attacked his wife with a meat chopper, left her ip a serious condition, and then shot himself. -xThe tragedy 4 ’Avas discovered when an employee (Watson) returned an hour later.. Owen was then quite dead, and the wife semi-conscious. Owen left a,letter stating his intentions, and also saying he aws mad. The couple had been married übout a year. ;Both! are members of well-known and respected families.
