OBITUARY.
MRS. EDWARD WITHERSAGED 24 YEARS.
It is with sincere regret that we l’ecord the death of Mrs Annie Edith (“Nancy”) Withers, wife of Mr Edward Withers, and second daughter of Mr and Mrs John Ross, which occurred yesterday, at 3 p.m., and three hours later her six-days-old daughter passed away. The late Mrs Withers was wellknown locally, and was beloved for her cheerful disposition and willingness to help others. During (he influenza epidemic she was one of the first to volunteer ./her services to nurse the sick, and was associated with. Miss Littlejohn in the temporary hospital at the Anglican rie.uagei As a result she subsequently became a victim to the disease, which undermined her health. She was married about two year.- ago, but did not enjoy good health, owing to internal complications. Her death at such an early ago has come as a great shock to her husband and parents, who will have the heartfelt sympathy of a large circle of friends.
The funeral will leave her late parents’ residence, Tliynne Street, at 2 p.m. to-morrow (Friday), for the Foxton cemetery.
