- The weather during the New Year holidays, although not all that could •be desired from a bowler’s point of view, was sufficiently favourable to allow of very enjoyable pairs tournaments being,held on Monday and Tuesday. The green was .'well prepared for both days’ play, but a stiff easterly breeze made play somewhat uncertain, and a wide variation in the draw of the two “hands.” The play on Monday resulted in a win for Healey and Nye (s) ; the details of the three rounds played (11 heads each) being as follows: — Huntley and F.
