MANAWATU MEETING

The Manawatu meeting opened at Awaprtni on Monday, in dull and showery weather. There was-a big fall in the machine turnover, the amount dropping from £78,930 to £58„130. The racing was good all day. The Cup proved to be. a good thing for Rude, who led from end to end, and the_ big sprint was won by Rude’s stable mate, Tamatete, with remarkable ease.
