PRESBYTERIAN SABBATH SCHOOL.

ANNUAL PRIZE-GIVING.

The annual social and prize-giv-ing was held in the schoolroom on Tuesday evening. The minister, Rev. Thomas Halliday, presided. The ladies of the church provided a sumptuous tea for the hoys and girls, and thereafter outdoor games and a special competition was entered into with great zest. At 8 •o’clock the hoys and girls and parents gathered in the schoolroom for the programme arranged hy Mr and Mrs Slade.

The following took part : Pianoforte solo, Madge McColl; duet, Mavis Graham and Isie Patterson; song, Madge Patterson; recitation, Isabella Halliday, Marjorie McMurrny, Ula Cunningham, Bruce McMurrny, Avis, Doris and Hazel Haydock, Agnes Barton; violin and pianoforte duet, Ernest and Mavis Graham; also pianoforte solo, Miss Patterson. Mrs Slade accompanied the children on the piano. Mrs Halliday, superintendent, before presenting the prizes, spoke of the kindness of the members of the church in supplying so many beautiful books for distribution that night. She also mentioned that there was a good staff of teachers, and urged the parents, after the holidays were over, to send the hoys and girls regularly to Sunday school.

The following received prizes:— Hazel Haydock, Madge McColl, Katy Roore, Miriam Spoil’s, Marjorie McMurray, William Halliday, Roy Roore, Theo. Perreau, Gordon Whitehead, Bruce McMurray, Jack Graham, Lizzie Beer, Agnes Burton, Agnes Haydock, Doris Haydock, Isie Patterson, Madge / Patterson, Mavis Graham, Isabel Halliday, Kathleen Ilornblow, Ernest Graham, Goi’don Perreau, Hector Perreau, Huntley Ross, Dick Haydock, Ada Roore, Gwen Thorpe. Douglas Bpeirs, Ula Cunningham, Walter Graham, Allison Crowe, Maggie Stevenson, Daff. Stevenson. Special prizes to Ula Cunningham (for church attendance, not having missed a morning service for two years), Gwen. Thorpe, for conduct, and Douglas Speirs for attendance.
