RIFLE SHOOTING.
The final shoot for Mr Head’s trophies was held last Saturday, at 600 yards, under unfavourable weather conditions. The light was good, but the wind was the strongest yet experienced this season, and changing from right to left, and back, continually. There was also a little rain. The two 43’s by C. Rand and W. Symons were very good under such > condition, but shooting generally was very erratic. Scores were as follows: —
In the final results,, four members —Rflmen. C. Rand, W. Symons, Head and McKegney—tied with a total of 93 for two shoots (47 and 46). The winner was decided on the lowest total handicap used by each, and proved to be C. Rand, who used 6, the others taking 7, 9 and 12 respectively. C. Rand, therefore, wins the first trophy, value 30s, and W. Svmons the second trophy, value 10s. ’ (
The local Club will be represented at the Wanganui R.A. Championship Meeting, to be held next week, by Pres. Head, Hamer and Hughes. They will-have the best wishes of the Club for an enjoyable and successful trip. There will be no shoot next Saturday. (Christmas Eve), but a practice will be held on Saturday, December 31st.
