OCTOBER WORKING,
The amount of gas manufactured during 1 the month of October was 515,400 ft., which, with the amount in the holder on the Ist October, 17,000 ft., made a total of 532,400 ft. The amount of gas used by consumers was 450,600 ft., in street lamps 25,500 ft,, and at works 25,000 ft., and there was 8,500 ft. in the holder on the Ist November, leaving 22,600 ft., representing 4.4_ per cent., unaccounted for. Forty-seven tons of coal was carbonised, yielding 10,966 c. ft. per ton, and producing 17 tons 15cwt. of coke. The earnings for the month toalled £363 6s Od, and was made up as follows: —Gas sales, lighting, £l2l 11s od, heat and power £ll3 16s lOd, coke sales £42 11s sd, tar sales £53 0s 6d, fittings £25 15s 9d, services £2 10s Od, labour services £1 10s, labour fittings £1 10s, miscellaneous 18s, disinfectant 2s 6d, a. total of £363 6s od. The expenditure for the # month totalled £355 16s 2d, and was made up as follows: Coal used £ll6 5s Bd, salaries, wages £4B 19s 4d, labour fittings £3 7s 3d, labour services £4 9s 3d, services £27 19s 3d, fittings £27 10s 9d, meter repairs £l4 7s Bd, working expenses £2 16s 6d, printing and advertising £2 12s od, engine repairs Us, repairs sundry 9s 4d, tools £1 10s 6d, cartage and freight £1 9s, drain (material £3. 4s 3d) £6 9s 3d, holder connection material £9 9s 4d, holder connection wages £1 Us sd, retort repairs £26 7s, interest and sinking fund £59 11s Bd, a total of £355 16s 2d.
