METHODIST CHURCH.
SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.
The anniversary services m conned ion with the above proved a great success on Sunday last. The church was beautifully festooned with lycopodium, obtained from the slopes of Mt. Ruapehu by an enthusiastic lady friend (Mrs Ta.v--lor), who was present at the services. The children, ably trained and conducted by Mr Betty, were in tine form, and the singing was a feature of the services. The services were well attended, and the offerings genefous. The Rev. L. Minitie preached appropriate sermons. The afternoon address to the children, of God’s love and care, and the flowers, created an atmosphere which could not fail to make a lasting impression.
Votes of thanks were passed by the Minister, at (lie close of the evening service, to Mr Betty, for the training of the children, to Miss ITonore, for her much valued work at the organ, also to the instrumentalists, Mrs Chalk, Mr and Mrs Taylor, for their help Kennerley, and Mr Osborne, and to Mrs Taylor for her help with the decorations.
The Anniversary will lie continued on Wednesday evening next, when a concert and prize-giving will be held in the new Sunday School Hall. A good time is promised all who attend.
