MR. HYDE'S MISSION.

JUr Hyde opened his week’s Gospel Mission in the Town Hall sup-per-room on Sunday evening. Last evening he gave a most interesting account of the orphanage work at Hunterville, of which he is the director. This is the only home in New Zealand which is maintained in simple dependence upon God’s promises. The efficacy of prayer was demonstrated by the speaker in re-, lation to the founding and mnintainance of the Home. Last year, he stated, £1,200 was received without collection or appeal. The Home is conducted by Air and Airs Hyde and two voluntary assistants, and destitute orphans are admitted absolutely free. The inmates number twenty. Details in connection with the institution were listened to with marked interest 'by those present, the story unfolded being one of the most remarkable in connection with the care of destitute children, ever experienced in this gauntry. The doors of the institution, the speaker said, were open night and day to any who desired to inspect it, and many had done so. Government and officials of other institutions had expressed surprise that, such work could be carried on by simple faith.

Air Hyde will continue the mission each evening during the week.
